How it works

step-by-step

You might be curious what working with me would be like. Totally valid!

Here's a breakdown of what the steps could be for us (but please keep in mind that I like to work with the strengths and preferences of the writers I work with):
  1. Discuss via email the following details of your project: the genre and subgenre(s), the current/anticipated word count, a hard/soft deadline, and any other specifications you have in mind.
  2. The writer provides a sample (a 1000-word digital document, either by Google Docs, Pages, Reedsy, or Word doc) for me to go over possible options in terms of rates and timelines for your project; any need for financial assistance, such as deferred and/or payment plans can be discussed via email as well.
  3. Once the email discussion is done, the editor sends a contract, which the writer signs and sends back to the editor.
  4. The editing begins! If by Google Docs and Reedsy, writers are free to check my progress, and respond to comments and suggestions I make, whenever they'd like. However, for Pages and Word doc files, they are sent back and forth between editor and writer.
  5. Typically, for all services, there are at least two rounds of editing: first, the editing purchased (e.g., copy editing, developmental editing); then, after the writer reviews their works (i.e., checks all edits and asks questions the editor can clarify on), a final round of proofreading is done to ensure high quality of work.
